About Emesent

Emesent is an Australian technology company developing autonomous LiDAR-based drone mapping and data analytics solutions. Our Hovermap product line enables customers to capture high-quality 3D data in GPS-denied and challenging environments across mining, infrastructure, surveying, and emergency response.

About the Role

We're looking for a QC Coordinator to join our Quality & Test team. This is a hands-on role covering incoming parts inspection, outgoing product QC (new builds, RMAs, and accessories), packing verification, and quality records management — all within an ISO 9001-certified environment. You'll coordinate daily with production, engineering, supply chain, and logistics teams to keep product flowing efficiently while meeting our strict quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Packing QC: Verify picked customer orders against invoices, packing lists, picking slips, and Hubspot/Jira records prior to logistics handoff.

Outgoing Finished Goods QC: Perform final inspections on new-build Hovermap payloads, RMA payloads, and accessory assemblies. Verify workmanship, cosmetic condition, functional performance (including power-on testing), and completeness of returned RMA items.

In-Process QC: Conduct quality checks at defined stages during assembly and sub-assembly builds. Verify workmanship, component placement, and adherence to work instructions and engineering specifications at intermediate build points.

Incoming Parts Inspection (IPQC): Inspect received materials and components against specifications, drawings, and the Engineering Release File Register. Conduct First Article Inspections (FAIs) for new or changed suppliers. Manage Parts Special Acceptance (PSA) processes for out-of-spec parts, coordinating sign-off with Engineering, Production, and QA.

NCR Management: Raise, assess, and progress Non-Conformance Reports with a focus on parts supply issues.

Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs): Monitor the ECN Jira board, action items requiring QC/QA involvement, and maintain the ECN monitoring log.

New Product Introduction (NPI): Attend production trials and pilots for new products. Develop FAI checklists from assembly diagrams and Engineering specs, complete FAI on pilot samples, and contribute to QA sign-off for production handover.

Calibration & Equipment: Maintain the measuring equipment asset register and calibration/PM schedule for QC and Production tools.

Rework Records: Document rework activities on parts or assemblies as required.

ISO 9001 & QMS Support: Support maintenance of Emesent's Quality Management System (EBMS), assist with audit preparation and corrective action follow-up, and contribute to procedure and checklist development.

Any other duties as required by the Quality or Production teams

About You

Essential

  • 3+ years in a QC, inspection, or QC coordination role in manufacturing, electronics, or technology production.

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015.
  • Experience with non-conformance reporting and corrective action processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures.
  • Effective communicator who can coordinate across production, engineering, and supply chain teams.
  • Comfortable with Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, or similar digital workflow tools.
  • Most importantly, a friendly can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
