Context

The Role

 

*While this role is ideally full-time, we would consider applicants who can commit to 4-days per week for the right person.

 

We’re looking for a Senior Civil Drafter to join our Brisbane team in a role that offers real scope, ownership and influence. You’ll join a national drafting team working across complex infrastructure projects, with a strong pipeline of major rail opportunities. If you are someone who enjoys being hands-on in delivery but also wants to mentor, guide and be seen as a trusted senior in the team – we would love to speak with you.

Missions/Main Duties

Duties include:

• Lead the delivery of rail drawings and drafting outputs across multiple project stages.
• Take ownership of drafting deliverables, priorities and deadlines.
• Work independently to develop coordinated drafting solutions on complex infrastructure projects.
• Lead drafting coordination across multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Review drawings for accuracy, quality and compliance with client and company standards.
• Identify delivery risks early and help drive practical drafting solutions.
• Oversee CAD model coordination and drawing production.
• Provide guidance, support and mentoring to junior drafting staff.
• Contribute to project planning, reporting and stakeholder coordination.
• Act as a key link between the Drafting Manager and the wider drafting team.

Profile/Skills

About You

 

This is a chance to join a well-established national team of around 40 and take on a role with real influence. You’ll be working on major rail and infrastructure opportunities, helping shape delivery, and filling a genuine need in the team at senior level. Key criteria:

• You have strong experience as a Senior Civil Drafter or Experienced Civil Drafter within rail, civil, transport or major infrastructure projects.
• You have experience leading drafting deliverables on complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
• You bring strong AutoCAD 2D capability, which is essential for this role; exposure to 12d, which would be highly regarded.
• You can review drawings, identify errors, clashes and risks, and help resolve issues early.
• You are comfortable working closely with engineers, designers and other stakeholders across project teams.
• You likely have around ~8 years+ of experience, or can demonstrate a similar level of seniority and project leadership.
• You hold a relevant qualification such as a Cert IV, Diploma, or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering.
