Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of buildings, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment across NNCC facilities. This position requires a dependable individual with strong technical and problem-solving skills who can work independently while supporting the organization's commitment to providing safe and accessible spaces for the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Facility Maintenance & Repairs
Perform general maintenance and repair work, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and drywall repairs.
Conduct routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and facility systems to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
Troubleshoot and repair facility equipment and building systems as needed.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests, service calls, and work orders.
Perform preventive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and extend the life of facility assets.
Grounds & Property Maintenance
Maintain grounds, parking lots, sidewalks, and common areas in a clean, safe, and presentable condition.
Assist with seasonal maintenance activities, including snow removal, salting, landscaping, and debris removal.
Monitor facility exteriors and report any safety hazards or repair needs.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, building codes, and organizational policies.
Identify and address potential safety hazards in a timely manner.
Properly use and maintain tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Assist with emergency repairs and facility preparedness activities.
Inventory & Documentation
Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and repair logs.
Track inventory levels of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
Recommend purchases and replacements of tools, equipment, and materials as needed.
Project Support
Assist with facility improvements, renovations, office moves, and special projects.
Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors when required.
Support organizational events by assisting with room setup, breakdown, and facility preparation.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment, power tools, and hand tools.
Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills and customer-service orientation..
Preferred Qualifications
Previous maintenance, facilities, or building operations experience.
Technical certifications in maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related trades.
