The Registered Nurse is responsible for preparing patients for surgery through pre-operative assessments, patient education, and the coordination of necessary testing. They ensure a safe, aseptic environment while delivering individualized care to adult and geriatric populations.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nursing school with a valid Virginia nursing license and current CPR/ACLS certifications. A minimum of one year of experience in pre-admission, pre-operative, or post-operative care is required.

Virginia Urology will provide access to individualized, quality, and compassionate urological care from a highly specialized and diverse teams while maintaining a fulfilling work environment.
Our Pre-Admission Testing Registered Nurse demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, and range of treatment. They are responsible for delivery of education in order to prepare the pre-operative patient for surgery and maintain an aseptic and safe environment in the Pre-Admissions Department. This role supports adult and geriatric populations.
Requirements
Acute care hospital experience in an ICU, ER or Med-Surg or high-volume surgical center with exposure to multiple specialties.
Other Job Functions Include:
Exhibits strong initiative, personal accountability, and ability to independently identify and execute improvement opportunities.
This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, and will work Monday through Friday at our Stony Point location.

Virginia Urology (VU) has a long history of providing quality care to the Greater Richmond metro area since 1929. The practice prides itself on its strong commitment to the community's urological needs by recruiting highly skilled physicians and using the latest technology. The practice is comprised of over 40 physicians that include urologists and urogynecologists as well as physicians specializing in the urologic aspect of anesthesiology, pathology, radiation oncology, and radiology. Because we have such diverse medical professionals we are able to provide the latest technologies with our mission of providing the best possible care for each patient. Our board certified physicians and staff are dedicated to offering care that blends state-of-the-art medical expertise with compassionate, individualized attention. The group has urology specialists spanning nearly every discipline within the field of urology. VU has 7 office locations throughout central and southern Virginia as well a licensed and accredited ambulatory surgery center. In addition to our convenient locations, we have diagnostic imaging available at most of the locations. Our Stony Point location offers patients CT and MRI services. Through the use of our secure electronic medical record system you can be seen at any of our locations by any VU physician!
