The role involves performing comprehensive assessments and developing individualized care plans for patients with neurological diagnoses. Responsibilities include coordinating care, supervising progress, and potentially serving as a Charge Nurse or Preceptor.
Candidates must be a Licensed Registered Nurse in MN or WI with a BLS certification and NIHSS certification within one year. An associate's or vocational degree is required, while a bachelor's degree and neuroscience experience are preferred.
Tier 1: neuro experience with at least 6 months on a neuroscience unit, with charge nurse experience preferred
Tier 2: at least 6 months acute inpatient hospital experience
Tier 3: long term care or transitional care unit experience, or New Grad RN
Nursing is the diagnosis and treatment of human response to actual or potential health problems. This includes establishing an intentional therapeutic relationship between a registered nurse and a patient and family. As a leader and the integrator of care, the professional nurse has the responsibility, authority, and accountability for planning, coordinating and evaluating the patient’s care needs.
Nurses in neurology setting specialize in working with individuals with neurologic diagnoses.
