The Recovery Engineer will own mission campaigns for processing Falcon 9 boosters and fairings at the Port of Long Beach, including developing procedures and test plans. They will also design and test ground support equipment while ensuring hardware readiness and operational efficiency.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and possess at least 2 years of experience in aerospace or aviation systems. The role requires the ability to work in extreme outdoor environments, perform offshore recovery missions, and pass government background checks.

SpaceX operates the world’s first automated unmanned vessel certified to land orbital class vehicles. This role has the opportunity to work with an elite team to develop and execute the processing operations of landed Falcon 9 boosters and fairings. Recovering and re-flying rockets is historic and has changed the industry for the future…and you could be a part of that team.
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year.
