Full job description
Change the world. Love your job.
Aerospace & Defense Systems team, within the WW Marketing / SEM organization, is solving some of the most cutting-edge technology design challenges. For over 60 years, we have created a wide range of high-reliability products for space, avionics and defense electronics designs. Engineers rely on TI's product availability and system-level knowledge, support and detailed design resources to meet mission-critical design requirements with products that can operate in harsh environments for decades. Systems Marketing Engineers within the Aerospace and Defense (A&D) team push technological boundaries through system innovations in the demanding A&D industry. Through direct interaction with A&D customers, product development teams, and sales, you will enable current and future system advancements in applications like Space, RADAR, Ruggedized Communications, and Drones.
We’re searching for a dynamic Systems Engineer to join the Aerospace and Defense team responsible for creating and scaling innovative system-level designs to win key customer opportunities.
The key responsibilities in this role include:
Customer Collaboration & Opportunity Management
Collaborate with customers and Field Application Engineers (FAEs) to identify top opportunities in key focus areas.
Establish effective working relationships with key stakeholders (customers, FAEs, product lines), synchronizing project engagement to target growth in top markets, applications, customers and projects.
Co-develop competitive solutions with customer engineers and FAEs, demonstrating a comfort with change and uncertainty.
Execute on actions driven by customer opportunities with urgency and technical proficiency, reflecting the 'proper paranoia' of anticipating best outcomes while preparing for the worst.
Relentlessly drive design wins for new and existing products.
Create engaging training and technical content, demonstrating dedication to mission success and respect, credibility, and trust among peers.
Bring quick resolution to customer problems by interfacing across different functional groups such as design, product, test, packaging, marketing and sales.
Identify and promptly adapt to changes in the market and technology landscape.
Apply systems-level thinking to execute actions and growth strategies targeting specific markets, customers, and end-equipment.
Analyze key applications to identify future trends, identifying opportunities for improving performance and adding value to these systems.
Transform design requirements into system architecture, evaluating options for the best solution.
Break down system requirements to determine necessary design effort and manage requirement changes, reflecting a comprehensive view and creativity in problem-solving.
Coordinate and track progress with stakeholders to establish support strategies (design deliverables), timelines, and requirements for design solution.
Communicate complex technical concepts and the big picture effectively to a broad audience.
Promote stakeholder alignment using clear, consistent communication.
Define the scope of technical work needed for actions, identifying engineering tools and collaboration necessary to meet design schedules.
Analyze and compare circuit design solutions, documenting and executing steps to identify the optimal solution.
Execute circuit design processes, including device selection, circuit analysis, simulation, and optimization.
Develop prototypes, from performing schematic capture, layout, to driving PCB build and assembly.
Develop and execute a test and verification plan, performing in-lab testing and troubleshooting when necessary.
Prepare and present design solution overviews to stakeholders, showcasing self-confidence and comfort with making decisions.
Proactively identify and mitigate risks of technical deviations during the design cycle.
Manage changing design requirements throughout the design cycle.
