The Small Instrument Mechanic is responsible for cleaning, repairing, and calibrating oxygen system components within a controlled cleanroom environment. They must also maintain calibration standards, document measurement data, and ensure all equipment meets strict safety and performance specifications.
Candidates must possess civilian or military training in metrology or PMEL experience, along with a working knowledge of calibration procedures. A valid driver's license and the ability to pass a drug screening are required, alongside the physical capability to perform manual labor for extended periods.
Description
The Small Instrument Mechanic will apply knowledge of hoses, piping, valves, gauges, relief valves, and other items as they pertain to an oxygen rich environment. Maintain qualifications to clean components and systems to prescribed standards. Identify and utilize appropriate measurement procedures as it pertains to calibration of items with a Clean Laboratory. Perform corrective actions to address identified measurement problems. Adapt equipment, standards, and procedures to accomplish unique measurements inside and outside the Lab environment. Maintain calibration standards. Perform laboratory and/or departmental housekeeping.
