Responsible for deep cleaning carpeted surfaces and stripping, waxing, and burnishing hard floors within a senior living community. Additionally performs general cleaning duties, trash removal, and assists housekeeping and laundry staff.
Requires the ability to work independently or in a team and the capacity to understand safety sheets and infection control practices. Previous experience in floor care or a similar custodial environment and a high school diploma are preferred.
Ebenezer is looking for a Custodian, whom would be responsible for deep cleaning of carpeted surfaces, stripping, waxing and burnishing of hard floor surfaces. This position may also perform general cleaning duties, all within our senior living and skilled nursing community in Bloomington, MN.
This position includes;
Martin Luther Care Center, part of the Martin Luther Senior Living Campus is located in East Bloomington, near woodlands/wetlands and along the Minnesota River Bluffs. Managed by Ebenezer, we offer 137 units between our Skilled Nursing, Memory Care and Transitional Care. We have an outstanding team of tenured staff. The only thing missing is YOU! Martin Luther Care Center was named Top Nursing Home and Transitional Care Center by US News and World Reports the past two years.
Carpet sweeping, floor sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing
Carpet extraction
Stripping, waxing, and burnishing of hard floor surfaces
Assists housekeeping and laundry staff as needed
Assists with moving boxes, furniture, etc.
Empties and removes trash and recycling
Performs other duties assigned
Required Experience/Skills:
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Able to read/understand instructions for safety sheets and information on chemicals, infection control practices and body mechanics.
Ability to perform relevant floor care procedures
Experience with mechanical equipment
Preferred Experience/Skills:
One year previous experience in a similar environment preferred
Experience in floor care, custodial and/or cleaning work preferred
High school diploma/GED preferred
