The Operations Research Analyst will apply mathematical modeling and simulation tools to analyze USAF operational problems and airpower concepts. They will serve as a subject matter expert to recommend methodologies and evaluate experimental models to support senior leadership decision-making.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in operations research or a related field with substantial mathematics coursework. The role requires eight years of federal experience, including at least three years of specialized experience in wargaming or modeling and simulation.
Blue Sky Innovators is seeking an Operations Research Analyst to join our team in Arlington, VA responsible for applying mathematical modeling to support and enhance analysis of operational problems and airpower concepts to better inform Air Force senior leaders.
The Operations Research Analyst will leverage accredited modeling and simulation (M&S) tools to provide quantitative analysis of USAF operational problems and emergent airpower concepts at the appropriate classification level. This individual will serve as the M&S SME and recommend appropriate systems, programs, and methods to address division objectives as well as highlight the capabilities and limitations of proposed M&S methodologies. Additionally, the analyst will design, conduct, and evaluate experimental operational models in cases where models cannot be developed from existing data.

Salary range for the position is $120,000 - $190,000 per year. Specific compensation will be determined by several factors including experience, education, skills, and knowledge. We also offer medical/dental/vision benefits and 401k contribution.
