The Train Operator is responsible for safely operating commuter trains and yard services in compliance with Federal regulations. They must perform pre-trip inspections, monitor track conditions, and manage passenger communications and emergency procedures.
Candidates must be at least 21 years old with a valid US driver's license and a clean driving record. Applicants must be able to pass background checks, drug and alcohol screenings, and a physical abilities evaluation.

Denver Transit Operators, (DTO) is a privately held company that has a 29-year contract with RTD to operate and maintain the new commuter rail system within the Greater Denver Metro area. We currently have opportunities to hire Train Operators and are seeking committed individuals who can successfully complete our 2-month training program to earn the Federal licensure to operate our commuter trains.
Our Train Operators can expect to earn an hourly wage between $28.27 - $35.85 depending on experience, education & training.

Our Train Operators play an important part in keeping our locomotives on the move. We will teach you the dynamic workings of our trains, as well as the rules and regulations that must be followed to operator our trains.
What You Need to Bring: (Position Requirements)
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to pass a Physical & Physical Abilities evaluation, hearing and vision tests. Candidates can expect to be in a cab for much of their shift.
