The primary responsibility is to prepare STEM samples using dual beam FIB-SEM tools and perform imaging in a high-throughput environment. The role also involves collaborating with lab personnel to prioritize sample processing and providing feedback for continuous workflow improvement.
Candidates must have 4 to 6 years of related experience and the ability to work a compressed 12-hour night shift schedule. Preferred qualifications include experience with FIB/SEM tools, thin lamella preparation, and knowledge of semiconductor industry materials.
The SEM Lab in Tualatin is committed to providing best-in-class microscopy services to support Lam’s engineering and development efforts. Through technical development and continuous improvement, we solve difficult analysis problems and leverage efficiencies to increase our throughput and reduce our time to data.
The major responsibility is to prepare STEM samples using FEI/Thermo Fisher Helios dual beam FIB-SEM tools with ifast and AutoTEM software in an autonomy-focused workflow. The primary responsibility for this position is the preparation and imaging of samples in Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM) using Thermo Fisher Helios systems. Additional responsibilities may include FIB-SEM analysis, EDS, and Critical Dimension SEM.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
