The Senior Video Producer will own the end-to-end video engine, producing long-form content for YouTube and repurposing it for social media channels. They will manage the video content calendar, oversee freelance contractors, and optimize channel performance through metadata and analytics.
Requirements
Candidates must have 4+ years of experience producing video for tech or SaaS brands with a proven track record of growing a YouTube channel. The role requires hands-on skills in scripting, shooting, and editing, alongside the ability to manage freelance teams and understand technical product concepts.
Full job description
The Role
As Senior Video Producer at Hedra, you'll own our video engine end to end. YouTube is our highest-converting channel across developers, prosumers, and enterprise, and you'll be the person who makes it run at a sustainable cadence.
You'll produce the long-form work (tutorials, feature deep-dives, and product narratives) built around what developer, prosumer, and enterprise audiences actually search for. Every long-form piece then feeds a cutdown pipeline for X, LinkedIn, TikTok, and paid media. You'll write or brief the scripts, run the freelance bench that executes alongside you, and own the channel itself: thumbnails, titles, metadata, and the weekly numbers.
You'll do most of this work yourself, shooting and cutting as well as producing. The freelance bench gives you extra volume and specialist craft (e.g., motion graphics). You'll partner closely with marketing, manage contractors, and work against the launch calendar.
Responsibilities
Work closely with product, engineering, and marketing to build deep knowledge of the product, our users, and what those users are trying to build.
Own the video content calendar, aligned to the marketing launch calendar and blog and email themes.
Produce long-form YouTube content targeting developer, prosumer, and enterprise search intent: tutorials, feature deep-dives, and product narratives.
Source, contract, and manage the freelance bench of video editors, motion graphics designers, and on-camera talent. Keep at least two vetted options per function so no single contractor is a point of failure.
Write the scripts yourself, or brief them out when volume demands it, working with marketing on messaging as needed.
Turn every long-form piece into short cuts for X, LinkedIn, TikTok, and paid media. You'll cut most of these yourself and hand overflow to the bench.
Manage any agency relationships under clear guardrails: briefs, SOWs, continuous asset delivery, and weekly reporting.
Own YouTube channel operations, including thumbnails, titles, metadata, and search optimization, and report weekly on output and conversion-relevant metrics.
Keep all raw footage, project files, and account credentials organized in company-owned systems.
Qualifications
4+ years producing video for a tech or SaaS brand, including at least one YouTube channel you grew and can show the numbers for.
A track record hiring and managing freelance editors and motion designers, not only working inside a large in-house team.
You can script, and you can shoot scrappy solo content when the moment calls for it. This is not a project management role.
You understand YouTube as a search and conversion channel, not only a brand channel.
Enough technical fluency to make developer-facing content credible: you can follow a product demo and you know what an API is.
Who You Are
Hands-on. You'd rather cut the video yourself than wait a week for a contractor to get to it.
Self-motivated and independent: able to set ambitious (and yet accurate!) timelines and deliver on them.
Low ego, high patience, proactive communication. Strong opinions, weakly held.
Curious about generative AI and world models, and interested enough to use the product yourself.
And most importantly, treat Hedra as your own and help shape the vision with us.
About Hedra
Hedra is a research and infrastructure lab building physical world models and the inference to deploy them at scale. Backed by top investors at Index, a16z, and Abstract Ventures, we've built the foundations for full-stack visual intelligence in the next era of AI.
Today our API serves both first- and third-party models to production customers, and our agent works within a single workflow to create content from scratch, manipulate existing assets, critique its own outputs, and repurpose them on demand. We're scaling from frontier research into the infrastructure the rest of the industry will build on.
We started by commercializing action-conditioned, real-time interactive video generation. We're now extending that foundation to the broader class of physical world models that perception, robotics, and media generation all run on.
At Hedra, we're a team of hard-working, passionate individuals seeking to fundamentally change how visual intelligence gets built and deployed, and to build a generational company together. You should have startup experience and be a self-starter driven to build impactful products that change the status quo.
The team is fully in-person in SF with a shared love of solving hard problems.
About the Founder
Michael Lingelbach (CEO) — Before taking a leave of absence to start Hedra, Michael was a PhD researcher in Stanford's Vision & Learning Lab, jointly advised by Fei-Fei Li and Jiajun Wu. He is co-first author on BEHAVIOR, a landmark embodied-AI benchmark, and has published at top conferences including CoRL, ICRA, and ICML (with a CoRL 2022 Best Paper nomination), with prior experience on NVIDIA robotics and simulation. He's a passionate cinephile, former thespian, and huge fan of Denis Villeneuve.
