Job Description:
Note: Fidelity will not provide immigration sponsorship for this position.
The Role:
Director, Quant Data Platform
You will lead the dataset onboarding efforts for the Quantitative Research Platform (QRP) team within Fidelity’s Quantitative Research & Investments (QRI) division. You will work closely with researchers to design data consumption patterns and partner with Data Operations to maintain data quality.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
You bring a strong background in managing and delivering complex data solutions for quantitative research within asset management. You have experience accelerating dataset onboarding processes while maintaining sustainability and quality, and you excel at collaborating with technology partners and researchers to design intuitive data consumption patterns. Your ability to coach teams, improve documentation, and maintain best practices in project management demonstrates your leadership and commitment to operational excellence. You are highly analytical, able to navigate complex data challenges, and communicate effectively with both technical and investment stakeholders.
Your technical proficiency includes SQL and Python, combined with a deep understanding of quantitative datasets ranging from traditional financial data such as prices, returns, fundamentals, and corporate actions to alternative datasets like sustainability analytics, supply chain, and credit card data. You have hands-on experience with major financial data vendors (Bloomberg, S&P, FactSet, Refinitiv, Morningstar, MSCI) and a strong grasp of point-in-time data modeling, historical reconciliation, and data governance practices. Your track record includes delivering large-scale data projects on time and at quality, with transparency and collaboration across multiple teams.
7+ years of experience in asset management or hedge funds, focused on data analysis, delivery, and transformation across asset classes
Proven ability to lead engineering teams and coach others while contributing individually
Exposure to a wide array of financial and alternative datasets with deep knowledge of consumption patterns
Technical proficiency in SQL and Python
