You will assemble, wire, and test complex electromechanical insectoid subsystems according to engineering drawings and specifications. Additionally, you will diagnose build discrepancies, perform necessary repairs, and maintain detailed records of all test results and hardware configurations.
Candidates must have professional experience assembling and testing complex electromechanical hardware using controlled drawings and schematics. Proficiency in mechanical assembly, electrical workmanship, and the use of diagnostic measurement tools is required.

Our first research frontier is self-preservation: the base case of physical self-replication. Our machines will survive, coordinate, and recover without humans. We believe scalable machine labor requires more than single-agent task generality or machines shaped in our image.
You will build, wire, instrument, inspect, rework, service, and test insectoids and their subsystems. You will turn engineering releases into physical hardware, identify discrepancies before they become ambiguous machine failures, and maintain records connecting every test result to the actual article on the floor. You will execute controlled work across fasteners, connectors, harnesses, bearings, sensors, adhesives, and calibration artifacts; surface defects quickly; and use measurements and documented discrepancies to restore the required build condition and improve product and process.
This role requires regular movement around a robotics workspace and sustained hands-on work with tools, fixtures, test equipment, and powered electromechanical systems. You must follow required workspace controls, lockout or de-energization procedures, and personal protective equipment requirements.
The hourly pay range for this El Segundo, California position is $45.00–$60.00 per hour. This is an on-site, hourly W-2 contract assignment supporting an immediate need. The position is non-exempt; overtime will be paid in accordance with applicable law. Please tell us your earliest available on-site start date.
