Full job description
Ticketek Entertainment Group (TEG) is a Live Experience Group that helps people discover, access and experience the unforgettable. We believe Life is better live®.
With over 50 years in live entertainment, we sell more than 30 million tickets annually, connect with 30 million fans across Australia and New Zealand, and bring 18,000+ events to life each year. Headquartered in Sydney, we operate globally across eight pillars: Ticketing, Live Touring, Sport, Immersive Experiences, Customer & Data Solutions, Venues, VIP Experiences and Partnerships. Through our integrated operating model, we bring the best live content, ticketing and technology to our partners and create unforgettable memories that last a lifetime
Our values guide everything we do: we partner with purpose, empower boldness within clear boundaries, and celebrate human connection – always putting the fan first.
The Role
Sitting within Strategy & Platforms and reporting to the GM-Strategy & Platforms, this is a high-impact, generalist strategy role combining business intelligence with structured strategic thinking to inform Group-wide decision-making. You'll generate deep, actionable insights across the competitive landscape, ticketing operations, live entertainment venues and broader market trends – feeding directly into Group Strategy, the strategies of Ticketek's Ticketing and Live entertainment business units, and key partnerships.
We're seeking someone with a strong consulting toolkit: structured problem-solving, rigorous analysis delivered at pace, and the ability to build clear, compelling, executive-ready presentations for the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and Board.
Outcomes to Deliver
In this role, success looks like:
Strategy development & business planning: Partner with the GM – Strategy & Platforms and Senior Leadership Team to develop and refine TEG's Group strategy and business unit strategies, translating priorities into frameworks, business cases and implementation roadmaps.
Competitive & market intelligence: Build deep understanding of key competitors, analyse competitor ticketing platforms, and monitor trends in the live music venue sector to inform partnership and investment decisions.
Executive communication & storytelling: Design and build clear, compelling, board-ready presentations and papers that translate complex analysis into a sharp, structured narrative for the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and Board.
Cross-functional partnership: Work closely with Ticketing, TEG Live, Sport, Commercial Partnerships, Customer & Data Solutions and other areas to ensure strategic recommendations are grounded in operational reality and can be practically implemented.
Data-driven culture: Synthesise data from streaming platforms, social media and internal sales data to identify emerging artist and genre trends, sharing insights through regular newsletters and briefings.
Special projects: Lead or support ad hoc strategic projects and initiatives as directed by the GM – Strategy & Platforms and CEO, which may include travel as required.
Capabilities to Bring
You’ll thrive in this role if you bring:
Strategy pedigree: 5+ years' experience in management consulting, corporate strategy or business intelligence – time in a top-tier or boutique consulting firm strongly preferred.
Slide mastery: Outstanding, non-negotiable ability to build polished, executive-ready Google Slides presentations that land well the first time.
Structured problem-solving: Strong analytical capability, translating data and research into clear strategic implications at pace.
Storytelling instinct: Excellent storytelling skills, bringing stakeholders on the journey and landing insights confidently with senior leaders.
Executive presence: Strong stakeholder management experience, including exposure to C-suite and/or Board-level engagement, with the rigour and judgement to support confident decision-making.
Key Requirements:
Willingness to travel to events as required
We’re Australasia’s home of live entertainment – from stadium tours to your local comedy show – and we look after the people who make it happen.
Front row perks: Front row and backstage access to live moments – free and discounted tickets to shows, sport and festivals across our network, plus presales and staff allocations for major on-sales
A global stage: Headquartered in Sydney with offices across seven countries and four continents, working alongside some of the biggest names in Australian and international live entertainment
Flexibility: Hybrid and flexible working, with flexible hours where your role allows
Parental leave for everyone: Paid leave for primary caregivers regardless of gender, with real support returning to work
Leave, your way: Annual leave plus extras like birthday leave and purchase leave
Your backstage crew: Confidential support via our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), including career coaching for you and your family, plus free flu vaccinations
Giving back: One paid volunteer day a year to support our community
Your next act: Structured development programs like Ticketek Academy, secondments to major events, and career paths tailored to your interests and skills
Recognition that means something: ALL STAR Awards and service milestones, celebrating the people and teams who bring our values to life every day
