The Role
As the Manager - City Plan & Transformation, you will provide leadership, direction and accountability for a multidisciplinary unit responsible for integrated planning, community infrastructure planning, public domain landscape and the development of transformational projects across the City.
Reporting to the Executive Manager City Plan and Infrastructure, you will lead a high-performing team and work closely with senior leaders, Councillors and key stakeholders to deliver solutions for complex and sensitive initiatives. This role plays a critical part in shaping Council’s long-term planning, guiding investment decisions and delivering projects that respond to the City’s environmental, social and infrastructure needs.
This is a unique opportunity to drive city-shaping outcomes, influence strategic priorities and lead initiatives that will define the future of Canterbury-Bankstown.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Lead a multidisciplinary team delivering transformational initiatives
- Oversee the development and delivery of Council’s Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) framework, including key strategic documents
- Drive the development of strategies and masterplans to guide investment in open space, community infrastructure and place-based outcomes
- Lead the planning of major infrastructure and city-shaping projects from concept through to delivery readiness
- Deliver complex, high-profile corporate initiatives with significant stakeholder, legislative and reputational considerations
- Provide strategic advice to Executive, Councillors and stakeholders on infrastructure, planning and investment priorities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including State and Federal Government agencies

You will have:
- Relevant degree in planning, business, strategy, policy or a related discipline
- Significant leadership experience in complex, multidisciplinary environments
- Demonstrated experience delivering integrated planning, strategy or transformational initiatives
- Strong stakeholder engagement experience, including Executive, Councillors and government agencies
- Proven ability to lead complex, high-profile projects with multiple risks and dependencies
- Advanced strategic thinking, problem solving and decision-making capability
- Experience influencing organisational direction, investment and policy outcomes
Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
