The Youth Sports Instructor is responsible for teaching basketball skills, rules, and strategies while promoting sportsmanship and cooperation among youth. They also oversee safe practices, manage game play as a referee, and communicate professionally with parents and guardians.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of experience in organized coaching or sports play with an emphasis on basketball. Applicants are also required to obtain various safety certifications and clearances, including CPR and Pediatric First Aid, within six months of hire.
The Role
The Youth Sports Instructor is responsible for working with youth to educate them on a skillset in a specified sport, with a focus on basketball. The instructor is responsible for coordinating, implementing and promoting the athletics program for BGCWPA. At times, you may be the referee for game play in addition to the instructor
BGCPWA prioritizes the safety of the youth we serve. CPR, Pediatric First Aid, Child Abuse, Criminal History, FBI clearance, NSOR certificate, PA Disclosure, PA Staff Health Assessment, TB Test, and Mandated Reporter certification required upon hire or within 6 months.

Hours: 8:00am - 8:00pm (Up to 29.5 hours per week; times may vary)

Compensation: Starting salary of $17 an hour
