  • Creating positive change in the lives of the world's most vulnerable children.
  • Building meaningful relationships with major donors to secure life-changing funding for children in need.
  • Joining a passionate, purpose-driven team as New Zealand's leading overseas humanitarian organisation.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Own a portfolio of high-value relationships. Identifying, cultivating and stewarding major donors through deeply personalised engagement that inspires transformational giving.
  • Go where the story is. Travel to meet donors in their location and accompany them on international field visits to World Vision programmes, and curate exclusive New Zealand experiences that turn interest into long-term philanthropic commitment.
  • Build the strategy behind the relationship. Develop individual donor plans that balance ambitious fundraising targets for the most vulnerable children with genuine, trust-based partnership.
  • Make the invisible visible. Contribute to compelling storytelling that brings World Vision's global impact to life for New Zealand donors, connecting their generosity to real outcomes for real children.
  • Collaborate across the organisation. Respond to warm introductions converting networks into meaningful new philanthropic relationships.
  • Bring discipline to the work. Maintain rigorous donor records in our CRM, manage your pipeline through structured moves management, and report transparently on progress toward agreed targets.

This is your opportunity to join a professional, passionate and diverse team at World Vision New Zealand, who shows up with purpose and heart to create meaningful change for children. Every day, as part of World Vision's global reach, you'll help the world's most vulnerable families build safer and brighter futures. Every night, you'll go home knowing you made a difference in someone's life.

About You

  • 5+ years' experience in fundraising, major gift relationship management or business development.
  • Proven ability to build strategic, authentic relationships and influence stakeholders across philanthropy, business or community sectors.
  • Strong organisational skills with a track record of delivering against agreed targets and deadlines.
  • Experience managing donor relationships using CRM systems and structured relationship or moves management approaches
  • A confident networker with existing connections in philanthropic or business communities.
  • Proactive and forward-thinking, with the initiative to identify opportunities, generate new ideas and drive meaningful engagement.
  • Comfortable working flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends and travel within New Zealand and internationally.
  • Aligned with World Vision's values and committed to making a meaningful impact for vulnerable children.

  • We offer a comprehensive benefits package; including Southern Cross medical insurance and life insurance, a day off on your birthday, the option to buy additional leave, a hybrid work environment, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and access to a free Wills package.
  • Be a part of World Vision’s haerenga (journey) of embracing te ao Māori, enabling us to be more effective in achieving our Mission.
  • Opportunities for ongoing learning, development and education through a range of channels including training and development as part of World Vision International.
