We are a category one provider (a designation given only to the leading tertiary providers in NZ) delivering qualifications from level 2 to 6 with a proven 25-year record of delivering quality education, sporting excellence, pastoral care and student achievement. We excel in providing students from all backgrounds the qualifications and hands on industry skills needed to be the sport and fitness leaders of tomorrow.
As a Uniformed Services Tutor, you’ll guide learners through our dynamic 18-week Pre-Police and Uniformed Services preparation Programme. Drawing on your own service experience, you’ll coach students through the physical, technical and professional skills they need to thrive in uniformed services environments. You’ll help build their confidence, resilience, teamwork, and communication to meet the demands of careers across the Defence forces sector.
You will bring the Uniformed Services (Level 3) curriculum to life through engaging, practical, and interactive delivery
Lead physical training sessions to help students build confidence, discipline, and teamwork
Mentor and support students from diverse background, tracking their progress and providing pastoral care
Share your industry expertise and knowledge to strengthen the programme and maintaining its alignment with the evolving needs of the industry
Play a pivotal role in improving student success rates across the Defence forces

Qualifications
About you:
You have a solid background in the uniformed services- whether it’s the Armed Forces, Police, Corrections, Security - and a passion for developing and inspiring the next generation of recruits. You’re ready to use your real-world experience to guide students through a programme designed to build their fitness, confidence, technical skills, and preparation for the range of services.
You’re a positive, engaging communicator who connects well with young people and values cultural diversity. Your ability to motivate others- both in practical training sessions and classroom activities- helps learners reach their full potential.
Proven experience/background in armed forces (or a recent veteran or reservist), police, or other relevant uniformed background
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate, mentor and inspire
Ability to build trust and positive relationships with students and various stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
Strong motivation to develop and coach students toward success in future careers
Teaching or mentoring experience is an advantage but not essential. Full training and resources are provided
