Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries, founded in 1916, is one of the largest providers of rehabilitation services in the State of Ohio. The Van Driver (Non-Medical Transportation) transports program participants to and from Goodwill in a 15-passenger van or wheelchair bus.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Available to work Full-Time Split Schedule (early mornings and afternoons)or can work Part-time from 6:00am - 10:00am or 1:30pm - 5:30pm.
EDUCATION: Must be 21 or older. High school diploma/GED is required. Must have a Valid driver’s license. Good driving record.
EXPERIENCE: Ability to pass a DOT physical. Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening required. Able to handle light lifting. Subject to random drug and alcohol testing throughout employment.
KNOWLEDGE: Familiarity with the greater Cincinnati area is preferred. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
BACKGROUND: Must successfully pass a criminal background check and other registry checks; certain felonies will disqualify applicants from employment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Transports participants to and from Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries and related program locations.
Safely operate all assigned vehicles, including 15-passenger vans, wheelchair-accessible buses, lifts and associated safety equipment.
Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicle, equipment and supplies.
Use assigned gas card responsibly.
Ensures oil changes, tire rotations and routine maintenance are completed on schedule.
Maintain accurate trip logs, including mileage, people transported, and incidents.
Physically assist all passengers entering and exiting vehicles, and ensure all passengers are secured for a safe trip.
Reports all accidents, injuries or complaints promptly to the Manager of Transportation.
Operate special routes, enclaves, and substitute routes as needed.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally to ensure passenger safety and coordination with staff.
Participate in initial and ongoing training activities.
Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the training manual and employee handbook.
Maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
Perform other duties as assigned.
