The Office of Student Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Penn State Harrisburg is seeking a motivated and passionate student worker to support the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Coordinator. This opening offers a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful work that promotes an inclusive campus environment through planning events and supporting various DEIB initiatives.
Job Duties
Assist the DEIB Coordinator in the planning, organization, and execution of events and programs that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within the campus community.
Collaborate with student organizations, faculty, and staff to enhance participation in DEIB initiatives.
Provide support in creation of promotional materials, including, but not limited to flyers and social media campaigns to raise awareness of DEIB events and resources.
Support research projects on best practices and emerging trends in diversity and inclusion to inform office initiatives.
Assist in gathering and analyzing feedback from events and initiatives to improve future programming.
Support other office functions and projects as assigned by the DEIB Coordinator.
Requirements and Qualifications
Current student at Penn State Harrisburg, with a strong interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and social media platforms.
Prior experience with event planning or involvement in diversity-related activities is a plus.
