Headquartered in Tempe, Arizona and Dallas, Texas, we create opportunities and improve the lives of our customers and our employees by placing a focus on putting the right customer, in the right vehicle, on the right terms and on their path to ownership.
The DriveTime Family of Brands spans across DriveTime, Bridgecrest and SilverRock. That’s Nice, But What’s the Job?
In short, the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for driving safe, compliant operations across Reconditioning Centers and Retail Dealership locations. This role takes a proactive approach to identifying risk, implementing practical solutions, and ensuring consistent execution of environmental, health, and safety standards across all sites. By combining strong partnerships, data-driven insights, and scalable EHS programs, the Specialist helps reduce incident frequency, minimize risk exposure, and elevate overall safety and environmental performance across a fast-paced, multi-site operation.
In long, as the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist, you will be responsible for:
Developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Managing site-level permits and ensuring all operations meet regulatory requirements
Leading OSHA and non-OSHA inspections, ensuring audit readiness, timely responses, and closure of corrective actions
Designing, implementing, and continuously updating EHS training programs and curriculum
Managing training databases, schedules, and compliance reporting to ensure completion across all sites
Partnering with leadership to evaluate and improve training effectiveness and alignment with business needs
Overseeing and conducting regular EHS inspections across Reconditioning Centers and dealership locations
Reviewing inspection findings, escalating risks, and driving issue resolution with key stakeholders
Performing root cause analyses on safety incidents and recurring issues, and implementing corrective and preventive actions
Managing EHS vendors, monitoring performance, and identifying opportunities for improved service delivery and cost efficiency
Administering driver and drug compliance programs, including reviewing motor vehicle records and drug testing results
Leading incident investigations, claims management, and risk mitigation efforts to reduce repeat incidents
Analyzing trends in claims and safety data to proactively address systemic risks and lower total cost of risk (TCOR)
Monitoring environmental and external risk factors (e.g., weather), proactively communicating potential impacts to leadership
Tracking key EHS metrics and delivering actionable, data-driven insights to leadership teams
So What Kind of Folks Are We Looking For?
Strong communicator who can influence and collaborate across multiple teams and leadership levels
Proactive problem-solver with a keen eye for identifying risks before they escalate
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across sites
Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable safety improvements
Accountable and results-driven, with a focus on continuous improvement
Comfortable working in fast-paced, multi-site operational environments
Passionate about safety culture and creating safe, compliant workplaces
The Specifics.
2–5 years of hands-on experience in environmental health and safety within manufacturing, industrial, or corporate environments
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related engineering/science field
Nice to Have
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar credential
Lean or Six Sigma certification or experience
Experience supporting multi-site operations or automotive/retail environments
