The Security Officer is responsible for patrolling hospital grounds to deter crime and ensuring the safety of patients, staff, and visitors. Key duties include managing combative individuals through de-escalation, responding to emergency codes, and preparing detailed incident reports.
A high school diploma and a valid Illinois driver's license are required, with BLS certification needed within 30 days of hire. While one year of experience in security, military, or law enforcement is strongly preferred, candidates must be physically capable of performing patrols and restraining individuals.
