About the job:
Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.
As a Policy Enforcement Manager (PEM) dedicated to enforcing the policies of YouTube’s Partner Program, you will help drive the overall strategy and enforcement approach for all policies in this area. Your role will require working with a cross-functional team across Policy Development, Product, Engineering, Legal, Ads Policy and Scaled Abuse to operationalize scalable policies that minimize brand risk to the platform while also educating creators. You will think through the unique challenges of a broad array of policy areas (e.g. hate, misinformation, adult, reused content, kids) while developing processes that are consistent and resilient to protect the ecosystem.
This role will require review of graphic, controversial, and offensive video content at times. This role will also require on-call work on weekends and holidays on a rotational basis.
At Google we work hard to earn our users’ trust every day. Trust & Safety is Google’s team of abuse fighting and user trust experts working daily to make the internet a safer place. We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.
Responsibilities:
Be responsible for specific areas of vertical performance and temps, vendors, and contractors (TVCs) operations, including quality. Research and stay up-to-date on key trends and suspicious patterns of abuse across the team’s policy areas.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of how our YouTube Partner Program (YPP) policies impact YouTube users, platform changes and new product launches.
Liaise with policy, PR, Legal and Partnerships teams to craft and implement process solutions to emerging threats and improve creator education.
Generate ideas for policy changes to improve quality and reduce operational burden. Manage and shape relationships with product and engineering teams to increase detection, sophistication, and enforcement efficiency.
Manage sensitive escalations end-to-end, partnering with key cross-functional and executive stakeholders to drive solutions. Prepare presentations and clearly communicate initiatives to management and to the broader organization.
A problem isn't truly solved until it's solved for all. Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. Bring your insight, imagination and a healthy disregard for the impossible. Bring everything that makes you unique. Together, we can build for everyone.
