The Events Staff will support the Events and Development Manager by hosting private events, monitoring vendors, and ensuring high-quality customer service at the historic site. They are responsible for site preparation, guest interaction, and maintaining security and safety protocols during events.
Candidates should have experience in hospitality or event management and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The role requires the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, and meet physical demands such as standing for long periods and lifting equipment.
Woodlawn and Pope-Leighey, historic sites of the National Trust for Historic Preservation seeks Events Staff to support the Events and Development Manager in hosting private events and site/facility rentals to ensure high quality customer service and flawless execution of events at the site. The position offers the opportunity to join a dynamic team at a historically significant site in Alexandria, Virginia. The hourly wage for the position is $20.00 per hour.
This is a part time, hourly position. Private events are generally held on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from April through November, with shifts that range from 2pm to midnight. Site and facility events occur throughout the year on a variable schedule. On average, events staff work between 5-12 hours per week.
At Woodlawn and Pope-Leighey, we practice stewardship to inspire discovery of the past, deepen our understanding of the present, to shape a better future. As part of our team, Events Staff support the organization in engaging event guests and vendors at these sites so that our mission-based programs, interpretation, and initiatives may be fully realized.
