Full job description
Hunt Bigger. Influence More. Win Together.
The best salespeople don't wait for opportunities. They create them.
We're looking for a Senior Account Manager who thrives on winning new business, building influential client relationships, and delivering commercial outcomes that genuinely help businesses grow.
This is a role for a proven sales professional with a hunter mentality. Someone who enjoys opening doors, challenging thinking, uncovering opportunities and closing deals. You'll spend your time in front of clients, building your network across Canterbury and helping businesses unlock the full power of trusted and iconic Digital and Print media brands such as The Press, The Post, Waikato Times, Sunday Star Times, NZ House and Garden, NZ Farmer & stuff.co.nz, among others.
If you're motivated by exceeding targets, building a high-value portfolio and making your mark in the market, we'd love to hear from you.
Leading with new business development, identifying and converting high-value commercial opportunities across Christchurch and Canterbury.
Building and executing strategic sales plans to grow your territory and expand Stuff's market presence.
Developing strong relationships with senior decision makers and becoming their trusted marketing and business partner.
Creating compelling multi-platform advertising and marketing solutions using Stuff's audience, data, content, events and digital capabilities.
Managing the full sales cycle from prospecting and discovery through to proposal, negotiation and closing.
Identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts while maintaining a strong focus on new client acquisition.
Using market intelligence, audience insights and commercial acumen to create winning strategies.
Representing Stuff across the local business community through networking, events and industry engagement.
What success looks like
You're consistently exceeding ambitious revenue and new business targets.
New client acquisition is a defining strength of your performance.
Your sales pipeline is healthy, active and full of qualified opportunities.
Clients value your commercial thinking and strategic advice.
You're recognised as one of the leading sales professionals in the Canterbury market.
You're helping drive revenue growth and expanding Stuff's commercial footprint across the region.
A proven track record in B2B sales, business development or media sales, with consistent success winning new business.
A genuine hunter mindset. You enjoy prospecting, networking, opening doors and closing deals.
Strong commercial instincts with the ability to identify opportunities others miss.
Confidence engaging with business owners and senior decision makers.
Outstanding communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
High levels of resilience, self-motivation and personal accountability.
The ability to translate business challenges into commercially effective marketing solutions.
A competitive drive, curiosity and ambition to continually raise the bar.
Experience in media, advertising, marketing or digital solutions is highly regarded, but we're equally interested in experienced high-performing sales professionals who know how to build relationships, influence decision makers and consistently win.
At Stuff, you'll represent one of New Zealand's most recognised and trusted brands while selling market-leading advertising, content and marketing solutions that deliver real results for local businesses.
You'll have the backing of powerful audience insights, premium digital products, creative specialists and a collaborative team, giving you everything you need to build lasting client partnerships and accelerate your career. If you're motivated by new business, driven by results, and excited by the opportunity to make a genuine impact, we'd love to hear from you.
