They will serve as the day-to-day communications resource for assigned Technology projects, with travel to jobsites as needed (up to 20%). Responsibilities include stakeholder outreach, community bulletins and construction alerts, tracking and helping resolve community concerns, media coordination, and general communications support.
Working closely with the client’s PR and community outreach team and HITT project leadership, the Communications Associate will identify communications needs, support jobsite messaging and engagement, and help ensure project information is clear, timely, and aligned with company brand and communications standards. The role will also support internal and external corporate communications assignments.

The ideal candidate is collaborative, solutions-oriented, and comfortable spending significant time in active construction environments. They are a proactive self-starter who takes ownership, learns quickly, and is motivated to grow their communications skills and responsibilities over time.
JOB FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technology Client PR & Community Relations (70%)
Serve as the embedded, on-site communications and community relations resource for assigned data center projects, often visiting jobsites to understand upcoming construction activity, anticipate community impacts, and support logistics alignment and issue-reduction planning before work proceeds.
Coordinate communications around grading, material handling, and other visible construction activities, including on-site and off-site operations that may affect neighboring properties or public perception.
Support proactive dust and site-impact communications, including frontage dust and silt controls, airborne dust mitigation, and high-height temporary fencing requirements.
Partner with the client on implementation and communication of the on-site signage and route-control program, including roadway signage, access routes, and traffic-flow expectations.
Coordinate communications related to frontage and off-site traffic management, bussing, crew activity, and other highly visible project operations to help minimize neighborhood disruption.
Write and distribute community bulletins, construction alerts, and other outreach materials addressing noise, dust, traffic, road closures, changes to work hours, and other anticipated impacts in coordination with the client-led outreach team.
Build and maintain relationships with neighboring residents, community associations, local businesses, and municipal stakeholders adjacent to active projects.
Support community meetings, open houses, and neighborhood briefings; document questions, concerns, and commitments and track follow-up items through resolution.
Manage community questions and complaints related to construction activity, including noise, dust, traffic, and site operations; route issues to the appropriate client and project teams and follow through until resolved.
Monitor local social media, news coverage, and community forums for project sentiment and emerging concerns, escalating potential public relations risks to the Communications Manager and Technology client as appropriate.
Route on-site media inquiries to the corporate spokesperson and coordinate safe, authorized, PPE-compliant site visits for approved media.
Support client-facing reporting on community outreach, stakeholder engagement, construction-impact communications, and issue resolution.
