The Production Set-Up Tech 1 is responsible for setting up and operating hydraulic presses to manufacture shaped charge components while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. They also troubleshoot production issues and ensure all assembly procedures comply with safety and quality standards.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to follow detailed instructions. Applicants must also be able to meet ATF and regulatory security requirements, including being a US citizen or lawful permanent resident.
Perform shaped charge set-up on the hydraulic presses to manufacture the components of the completed shape charge while working in a moderate to fast-paced hands-on assembly process. This position requires on-site presence and regular attendance to perform the essential duties.
Work Environment / Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work settings range from clean indoor lab to unprotected outdoor environments. The employee frequently handles packaged/boxed explosives, explosive articles and/or explosive powders and pellets. This may also involve instructing others in the proper handling, use, storage and transportation of these explosives. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee frequently works with powders, sometimes in a dusty environment and occasionally around fumes. Workers must not be overly sensitive (allergies, rashes, etc.) to working in these conditions. While rare, any accident could be catastrophic and potentially result in injury or death to many employees.

Specific vision abilities that are required by this job include: close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. These vision requirements relate to obtaining a valid driver’s license and recognizing current Hazmat warning labels or markings that are color coded.
