Position Summary:
Unison Health is seeking a Quality Improvement Manager to lead quality improvement, compliance monitoring, utilization review, medical records oversight, and organizational outcomes for our community behavioral health services. This position plays an important role in ensuring Unison Health delivers high-quality, effective services while meeting regulatory, contractual, and accreditation requirements. The Quality Improvement Manager will work closely with agency leadership, clinical and operational teams, ADAMHS Boards, funders, and community partners to monitor performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and support strong outcomes across the organization.
Key Responsibilities & Role Highlights:
Oversees Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI): Leads agency-wide quality improvement initiatives, monitors service quality and clinical documentation, develops the Quality Improvement Plan, identifies trends and gaps, and establishes measurable goals for improvement.
Monitors Compliance and Regulatory Standards: Ensures compliance with OhioMHAS, The Joint Commission (TJC), contractual, accreditation, and agency requirements; coordinates audits, surveys, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
Analyzes Quality and Performance Data: Collects, reviews, and presents quality data, dashboards, committee reports, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders to identify trends and evaluate improvement efforts.
Provides Leadership and Organizational Support: Provides guidance to staff and leadership, supports process improvements, coordinates policy and procedure reviews, and collaborates with internal and external partners.
Oversees Medical Records and Utilization Review: Establishes goals and monitors operations for Medical Records, Utilization Review, and assigned departments while supporting staffing, employee development, performance management, and departmental effectiveness.
Promotes Training and Continuous Improvement: Provides education and consultation related to documentation, compliance, quality improvement, regulatory updates, and best practices while utilizing evidence-based methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
Demonstrates Effective Management and Accountability: Maintains professional standards, follows agency policies and regulatory requirements, completes assigned projects and reports within established timelines, and promotes a culture of quality, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree relevant to mental health/ social work.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in behavioral health, quality improvement, utilization review, compliance, performance improvement, or a related field.
Previous management or supervisory experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of behavioral health practices, quality improvement standards, regulatory requirements, compliance, and Health Information Management processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to review and interpret data, identify trends, define problems, establish facts, and develop effective recommendations.
Ability to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate quality and performance improvement initiatives.
Excellent organizational, communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
Demonstrates strong attention to detail, sound judgment, confidentiality, and personal integrity.
Demonstrates a positive attitude, commitment to providing superior service, and enthusiastic support of the agency’s mission.
Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, leadership, and various departments across the organization.
Must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and meet agency driving requirements.
Required CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
Required CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
