The Transportation Operations Leader - Doors provides operational leadership for the transportation function across the Owens Corning Doors business. This role is accountable for transportation service, cost, carrier performance, and execution across inbound, transfer, and outbound transportation activities, including leadership of the Doors Load Center team.
The leader connects business priorities with transportation execution, ensuring day-to-day operations, carrier capacity, network performance, and customer commitments are supported through disciplined processes, data-driven decision making, and strong cross-functional alignment.
Internally, this position collaborates closely with Customer Service, Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, Sourcing, Finance and Supply Chain leadership. Externally, the role works with transportation carriers and logistics partners to strengthen performance, mitigate service risk, and deliver cost-effective solutions.
The successful candidate will act as a trusted business partner and transportation subject matter expert, building credibility through excellent communication, analytical problem solving, and an action-oriented leadership style. This leader will leverage technology, metrics, and process discipline to improve operational performance while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Knowing the Doors Business and Strategy
Build strong relationships with business leadership, customer service, planning, manufacturing, procurement, sourcing, finance, supply chain partners, and transportation stakeholders to support the strategic objectives of the Doors business.
Develop a deep understanding of the Doors supply chain, customer requirements, business channels, transportation network, product flow, service expectations, and operational constraints.
Understand and articulate business priorities and translate them into transportation strategies, operational priorities, team objectives, and clear execution plans.
Connect business plans, customer expectations, and transportation capabilities to identify areas of operational risk and opportunity.
Act as a transportation advocate and trusted advisor in support of business growth, customer experience, service reliability, and supply chain performance.
Provide visibility to transportation risks, service concerns, and cost impacts while proactively developing mitigation plans that reduce disruption to customers and the business.
Developing and Executing Transportation Strategy
Lead transportation execution across inbound, transfer, and outbound freight movements to ensure delivery of service, cost, and customer commitments.
Translate transportation strategy into operating priorities, resource plans, performance expectations, and standard work for the Doors transportation organization.
Drive transportation performance through disciplined management of KPIs, operational reviews, root-cause analysis, corrective action planning, and follow-through.
Develop and implement transportation solutions that optimize cost, improve service, reduce operational complexity, and support current and future business objectives.
Partner with transportation sourcing, planning, manufacturing, finance, customer service, and operations teams to ensure transportation capacity and carrier performance are aligned with business needs.
Leverage transportation systems, reporting tools, automation, and analytics to improve decision making, increase visibility, and strengthen operational effectiveness.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, transportation cost reduction, service reliability, process standardization, network optimization, and customer experience.
Support transportation-related technology and transformation initiatives, including process design, testing, training, change management, and organizational readiness.
Balance near-term operational execution with longer-term capability development, process improvement, and network performance opportunities.

Transportation Performance and Metrics
Achieve defined transportation service and cost objectives aligned with Doors business priorities and customer commitments.
Deliver productivity improvements and transportation value creation initiatives through carrier performance management, process improvement, network optimization, and operational discipline.
Reduce service failures and transportation disruptions through proactive monitoring, escalation management, issue resolution, and risk mitigation.
Establish and maintain a regular cadence for KPI review, operational performance assessment, exception management, and corrective action follow-up.
Ensure transportation metrics provide meaningful visibility to performance across the Doors network and are aligned with key supply chain stakeholders.
Drive accountability with carrier partners and internal stakeholders to improve service reliability, cost performance, and customer outcomes.
Ensure timely resolution of transportation service exceptions, carrier performance issues, operational disruptions, and root-cause corrective actions.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Degree concentration in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
Experience
7-10 years of transportation, logistics, supply chain, operations, or related leadership experience.
Demonstrated experience leading transportation or supply chain operations in a dynamic, fast-paced, business-facing environment.
Experience managing transportation providers, carrier performance, service execution, and operational escalations.
Proven track record delivering operational improvements, productivity gains, cost optimization, and service performance improvements.
Experience collaborating across multiple functions and influencing outcomes in a matrixed organization.
Experience utilizing transportation systems, analytics, reporting, and business intelligence tools to drive decisions and performance improvement.
Experience supporting business transformation, technology implementation, process standardization, or continuous improvement initiatives preferred.
Building products, manufacturing, industrial distribution, or complex supply chain experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong transportation operations and end-to-end supply chain expertise, with the ability to connect transportation performance to business outcomes.
Demonstrated understanding of transportation markets, carrier operations, logistics best practices, service execution, and cost drivers.
