We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Product Manager, Acquisition & Journeys, Unsecured Acquisition.

 

The Unsecured Lending team drives all product lifecycle activities and proposition development for credit cards and personal loans, including customer acquisition, customer journey enhancements, product pricing, retention strategies, existing customer management, marketing and portfolio management, and has full P&L responsibility for these products. The team supports customers with their lending needs across HSBC, M&S Bank, First Direct, working with wider Banking and Propositions colleagues, Marketing, Digital, Distribution, Risk, Finance, Legal, Compliance, IT, Operations, Global Teams and Card Schemes (Visa and MasterCard).

In this role you’ll:

 

• Own end-to-end acquisition delivery for Personal Loans and Credit Cards, accountable for volumes, quality, cost-to-acquire and customer outcomes across all channels.
• Lead acquisition campaign planning and delivery, shaping the campaign calendar and always-on activity; defining objectives, audiences, offers, channel mix and measurement.
• Develop and deliver the Unsecured Lending Strategy and Annual Operating Plans, translating priorities into clear initiatives, milestones, budgets and measurable KPIs.
• Track, analyse and report acquisition performance using internal MI plus competitor and market insights to identify opportunities and recommend actions.
• Drive optimisation through data-led test-and-learn, segmentation and propensity insights to improve targeting, channel mix, campaign performance and customer experience.
• Lead funnel and journey optimisation across digital and assisted journeys, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to remove blockers, manage risks/dependencies, and deliver compliant outcomes on time.

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

 

• Retail banking product experience (ideally Unsecured Lending: Personal Loans and/or Credit Cards) with a strong understanding of end-to-end acquisition funnels across digital and assisted channels.
• Experience managing aggregator/affiliate channels (e.g., comparison sites/partners), including proposition positioning and performance optimisation.
• Strong commercial and product acumen, with a track record of delivering acquisition initiatives that improve volume, quality, cost-to-acquire, customer outcomes and P&L performance.
• Proven ability to partner with Credit Risk and Analytics to balance growth and risk outcomes (e.g., approval rate, bad rate/early delinquency, affordability, eligibility and decisioning impacts).
• Strong analytical capability: advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, performance views) and confidence translating MI into clear actions (BI tools a plus).
• Demonstrated campaign and journey optimisation expertise, with excellent communication and stakeholder leadership to align cross-functional teams, manage dependencies, and deliver compliant change at pace with strong post-launch monitoring.
