Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex AI-powered recycling system projects, managing scope, schedule, budget, and risk. Coordinate cross-functional teams and external contractors to ensure successful installation and commissioning of industrial equipment.

Requirements

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or business and at least eight years of experience managing complex industrial or automation projects. Candidates must have a proven track record of managing multiple concurrent deployments and be willing to travel up to 50%.

Full job description

AMP is applying AI-powered sortation at scale to modernize the world's recycling infrastructure and maximize the value in waste. AMP gives waste and recycling leaders the power to harness AI to reduce labor costs, increase resource recovery, and deliver more reliable operations. With hundreds of deployments across North America, Asia, and Europe, AMP’s technology offers a transformational solution to waste sortation and changes the fundamental economics of recycling.

Headquartered in Louisville, Colorado, the Denver Post and BuiltIn Colorado have recognized AMP as one of the state's top workplaces. AMP has operations and career opportunities outside of Atlanta, Cleveland, Portsmouth, Virginia, and Europe. We’re fostering an environment where passionate individuals can grow and create impact. We seek unconventional thinkers to join our mission to enable a world without waste; at AMP, your contributions have meaning and can spur change. With backing from top-tier investors and national recognition including North American Cleantech Company of the Year, we’re always seeking ways to better our operations, raising the bar on innovation, and looking to collaborate and improve in what we do. Learn more at AMPSortation.com.

AMP Robotics is seeking a Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of complex recycling system projects. Reporting to the Director, Operations Fulfillment, this is a hands-on project management role with direct accountability for project scope, schedule, budget, risk, customer communication, installation, commissioning, and closeout.

The successful candidate will manage multiple concurrent project deployments while coordinating closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Production, Operations, Operations, contractors, field installation teams, commissioning resources, and customers.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the execution of engineering, procurement, assembly, shipping, site-readiness, installation, and commissioning activities across five or more concurrent project deployments.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules, milestones, dependencies, and overall project status.
  • Document and track decisions, risks, action items, and commitments arising from project kickoffs, design reviews, customer meetings, installation-readiness reviews, and project closeout activities.
  • Establish and maintain project budgets, forecasts, committed costs, contingency, and estimates at completion throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare clear and concise project reporting that provides visibility into scope, schedule, cost, risk, and required decisions.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual and customer requirements.
  • Support field installation and commissioning activities through completion, including work that may occur during evenings or weekends.
  • Proactively identify project risks, constraints, and emerging issues; develop mitigation plans and provide senior management with clear options and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to prioritize technical issues, field changes, and requested features through the Engineering Change Request process.
  • Manage project scope and change control, including evaluation of schedule, cost, technical, and commercial impacts.
  • Lead project recovery planning and corrective actions when performance deviates from approved expectations.
  • Facilitate after-action reviews and ensure lessons learned are incorporated into future project execution.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to reduce cost, improve quality, increase delivery predictability, and strengthen the customer experience.
  • Help establish consistent project controls, dashboards, templates, and operating practices across the Operations Fulfillment organization.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Eight or more years of experience managing complex industrial, manufacturing, automation, material-handling, construction, or capital-equipment projects.
  • Demonstrated experience personally managing projects from planning through installation, commissioning, customer acceptance, and closeout.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities and shared resources.
  • Strong knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, change control, procurement, contractor coordination, and project reporting.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional Engineering, Supply Chain, Production, construction, installation, and commissioning teams.
  • Experience managing contractors, suppliers, and third-party execution partners.
  • Strong customer communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and escalation-management skills.
  • Ability to establish structure and disciplined project controls in a growing, rapidly changing organization.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel to customer and project sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience delivering integrated automated equipment, recycling systems, conveyor systems, industrial controls, or material-processing equipment.
  • Experience working in a project-based manufacturing, systems-integration, EPC, or industrial-technology environment.
  • Experience developing project-management standards, dashboards, reporting tools, or PMO processes.
  • Experience supporting field installation, commissioning, and operational turnover.
