The Global Sourcing Lead works within the Global Sourcing department and across the business to understand the product and supplier requirements for outdoor kitchen cabinets, aluminum structures, and stainless steel products. As a Global Sourcing Lead, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a reliable supplier base to support current and future sourcing projects across these categories. During the execution of projects, you will support the entire supplier and product approval process. The Global Sourcing Lead will seek products and goods from a global network of suppliers and manufacturers specializing in outdoor-grade materials, metal fabrication, and cabinetry construction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Generate and implement efficient sourcing strategies for outdoor kitchen cabinets, aluminum, and stainless steel categories, supported by short- and long-term goals.
• Ensure accurate and competitive pricing across assigned categories.
• Identify potential new suppliers and manage the supplier assessment, approval, and onboarding process.
• Develop and conduct supplier assessments; formulate supplier risk matrices for the category.
• Assess supplier and factory capacity and capability to meet retail and product requirements, including material standards for aluminum and stainless steel construction.
• Lead negotiations for assigned projects and categories; make key decisions on sourcing and developing new suppliers.
• Prepare and lead Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for identified projects and categories.
• Work with internal business units to improve supplier quality, service, and cost.
• Draft and manage manufacturing contracts, coordinating negotiation meetings and ensuring terms align with business requirements.
• Monitor and evaluate vendor performance across quality, pricing, delivery timelines, and responsiveness; manage factory expansions or disruptions as needed.
• Manage cross-functional and vendor-facing communication related to sourcing, costing, and pre-production product development.
• Manage sample development and tracking process from initial sample stage through to production launch.
• Ensure calendar deadlines are met through use of project tracking tools.
• Identify testing and production issues upfront and involve Quality Control and Engineering teams to resolve.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field; proven work experience as a Sourcing Lead or Procurement Lead.
• Minimum five (5) years of working experience in a related field of study.
• Engineering background or experience in metal fabrication, aluminum, stainless steel, or outdoor products would be considered a strong asset.
• Interpersonal skills to develop and manage supplier and internal stakeholder relationships.
• Mandarin and English proficiency is required.
• Strong project management skills; ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work with and influence key business unit leaders.
• Negotiate effectively with strong written and oral presentation skills.
• Ability to think strategically with excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to communicate with suppliers across multiple time zones, with the understanding that communication may be required outside of regular business hours, including alignment with Asia business hours.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
• This role requires frequent domestic and international travel, including regular visits to manufacturing hubs across Asia, to conduct supplier evaluations, negotiations, and production reviews.
