Join the dynamic team at Gameday Bay Indoor Waterpark in Canton, OH, as we prepare to launch an exciting new destination for family fun and entertainment. As the Sales Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping the success of this brand-new indoor waterpark, opening in the first quarter of 2027. Starting early to mid-July 2026, you will help drive sales initiatives, build community relationships, and lead efforts to pre-sell season passes during the final construction phase. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a fresh, vibrant business introducing a new experience to the Canton area.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Develop and execute sales strategies focused on pre-selling season passes and booking group events.
- Assist with sales blitzes and cooperative marketing initiatives led by S&L Hospitality.
- Collaborate with the General Manager and S&L Hospitality to maintain up-to-date information and images on all external sites or platforms to optimize exposure and lead generation.
- Engage with the local community to build strong partnerships and support the waterpark’s growth.
- Participate in local associations, tourism bureaus, and chamber programs as an engaged representative of the waterpark.
- Actively monitor potential leads, ensuring prompt and professional proposals.
- Coordinate and secure bookings for meeting spaces, private and after-hours events, including food and beverage packages.
- Attend and participate in non-negotiable community and company events, including Enshrinement Week in August 2026.
- Collaborate with the S&L Home Office team in Verona, WI, for training and ongoing support, offered both onsite and virtually.
- Maintain a hands-on, flexible presence during waterpark launch activities and early operations with continuation of participation in assigned events and operations.
- Maintain an active presence on social media to highlight waterpark activities, groups, and events.
- Stay informed of market competition, demand trends, and local events that impact occupancy and rate strategy.
- Understand the importance of groups and meeting segments.
- Provide timely reports and updates to communicate ongoing initiatives and successes.
- Greet incoming groups to ensure satisfaction, provide post-hours contact guidance, and support group needs throughout the day.
- Collaborate with property accounting to manage group billing, posting accounts, and ensuring accuracy and timely follow-up.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Proven prior sales experience, preferably in hospitality, entertainment, or event sales.
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience in community involvement and relationship-building.
- Ability to manage multiple sales channels and coordinate complex bookings.
- Willingness to attend key events and participate in community activities relevant to the role.
- High-level understanding of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Physical ability to work in an active, indoor waterpark environment, including standing, sitting for long periods and occasional lifting.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling office and promotional materials.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and climb stairs as necessary to access various waterpark amenities and events.
- Ability to communicate verbally and written through various company platforms
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Visually sufficient to read, prepare, and analyze reports, contracts, and marketing materials.
- Flexibility to work outside standard business hours as needed for events and bookings.
- May require local and overnight travel.
