The EMS Training Lieutenant is responsible for organizing, implementing, and evaluating emergency medical technician training programs for personnel. This includes conducting quality control on patient reports, maintaining medical supplies, and ensuring adherence to safety procedures.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and significant fire service or EMS experience, specifically serving as a current Augusta Fire Department Sergeant or having 10 years of career EMS experience. Required certifications include Georgia AEMT/NREMT and Georgia EMS Instructor credentials.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Education: Associate Degree
Experience: Serving as a current Augusta Fire Department Sergeant, with six (6) years of fire service experience or six (6) years of EMS experience in a career department outside of Augusta Fire Department.

Possess or obtain Georgia EMS Instructor/Coordinator EMT level (AEMT Instructor/Coordinator level preferred) within six (6) months of hire and maintain the required number of continuing education and instructor hours every year to maintain certification
Licensing:
Possession of a valid driver’s license with good driving history. If State license is other than Georgia or South Carolina, applicant must obtain a license in Georgia or South Carolina within 30 days of employment.
