The Material Handler is responsible for managing raw and finished materials, including monitoring supplies and operating machinery to support production. They must also perform equipment inspections, maintain inventory records, and assist in training personnel.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of manufacturing experience. Proficiency in operating forklifts and pallet jacks, along with the ability to lift 55 pounds, is required.
Job Functions/Duties:
• Review and monitor supplies (stretch wrap, boxes, trays, colorant, pallets, etc.).
• Check all machines for sufficient color and material.
• Inspect the forklift (LPG or Electric) before use, using the forklift checklist. (OPS-FRM-022) or Phone APP
• Remove full pallets and boxes from the machines, stretch wrap and label each pallet.
• Use pallet jack when required.
• In some cases, affix labels to the appropriate cases.
• Maintain and remove all boxes, cardboard, pallets, conveyors, and water tanks as needed.
• Make sure electric forklifts are equalized; use the electric lift equalizing form (OPS-FOR-015)
• Bring all scrap boxes of plastic material to the grinding area.
• Assist in preplanning jobs, perform color changes or material changes as needed.
• Will move all production to hold area or PRSTG area using RF scan gun.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Maintain full water conveyors.
• Must perform required training of personnel
• Must be able to communicate well and drive to build teams
• Must be computer literate and maintain training records as needed.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in manufacturing.
• Experience operating a sit-down /stand-up forklift and/or use of a pallet jack.
• Inventory experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to understand process flow in production environment.
• Must be able to lift/carry 55 pounds.
• Experience with mixing resins and material recycling preferred but not required.
• Experience operating a stretch wrap machine preferred but not required.
