About the Role:
The CDL A Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of products while providing exceptional customer service. This role prepares and inspects vehicles for operation, verifies shipping documentation, secures and unloads shipments, and ensures deliveries are completed efficiently and within established timeframes. The CDL A Driver maintains compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations, monitors vehicle maintenance and driving records, and communicates effectively with customers and internal teams to ensure accuracy and satisfaction. This position builds strong customer relationships and consistently demonstrates the Company’s core values. Candidates must provide a current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) for review prior to hire. Employment in a driving position is contingent upon the Company's approval of the candidate's driving record. Pay is based on experience! Come work with us.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure a high level of customer service is always provided
Prepare the truck for operation by assisting in and overseeing the loading of trucks, securing items, and verifying the accuracy of shipping papers
Unload products in a neat and orderly manner with or without the assistance of the customer
Build and maintain connections with customers; build trust and develop relationships
Maintain general understanding of products
Complete vehicle inspections: inspect truck tires, lights, brakes, fluid, etc. to ensure safe and cost-effective performance with preventive maintenance in mind
Deliver orders via the most effective route and ensure complete orders that are delivered in established time frames
Maintain communication with the company during deliveries to ensure any updated instructions are received
Document delivery, accuracy, and receipt of orders by the customer; report any discrepancies
Increase customer satisfaction by collecting feedback on service, when necessary, report feedback back to supervisor, and inform customers of new products and sales
Maintain and monitor the truck maintenance and driving records
Maintain a safe driving record that is free of violations
Inspect, accept, or reject shipments received from vendors
Operate the forklift to move, unload, or hoist all inbound and outbound shipments from all the trucks
Comply with DOT and OSHA Requirements
Perform other various duties, as outlined by supervisor

Qualifications and Physical Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Willingness to participate in pre-employment and random drug screenings
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
Ability to drive and maintain alertness for long periods of time
2+yrs experience in driving tractor trailer
Active Class A commercial driver license
Ability to work in excessively hot and cold conditions due to the outside environment of various duties
Maintain a clean driving record
Could be required to drive various vehicles as needed. This could include: Pick Up Truck, Cabover, 2-Ton Truck.
Wear a safety vest when applicable
OSHA regulated Steel Toe Shoes: Either an ASTM F243 M/I/50/C/50 or ANSI Z41 PT M/I/50/50. Or an ASTM F2413 F/I/50/C/50 or ANSI Z41 PT F/I/50/C/50

Mountainland Supply Company started in 1947 as Provo Plumbing and Heating Supply, Inc. in the bustling metropolis of a postwar downtown Provo, Utah! Since then we have grown to 14 locations across the state and over 300 employees statewide.

In 1977, we changed our name to Mountainland Supply Pipe and Plumbing Company, (which we shortened to Mountainland Supply Company in 1986), and moved into our new building at 1505 W 130 S, Orem, UT 84058. It comprises a 61,250 square foot building with a 5,500 square foot showroom and an outside fenced area of approximately 10 acres. Across the street (89 South 1500 West) we have an Irrigation Division supplying Turf and Ag needs with such vendors as Rainbird, Valley, Hunter, Wade Rain and more.
We maintain a fleet of 60 vehicles to provide a daily delivery service throughout central, eastern and Southern Utah. Our sales team combines for a total staff of 50 inside and outside sales experts with some that have reached 40 years of continued employment with Mountainland. Our warehouse personnel are safety trained, drug tested and trained in product applications.
We take great pride in providing the best products to our customers, providing timely deliveries and always putting our customer’s needs first. We look forward to the future as we constantly implement new systems and technologies to continue to grow and serve!
