If so, you will have success on one of our dynamic teams.
A role within Merchandising Capabilities puts you at the center of functions that strengthen our core merchandising teams as they select items, effectively manage assortment lifecycle, engage with business partners, and meet consumer expectations of reliability and affordability. We are an industry-leading portfolio of global capabilities that drive financial outcomes, accelerate speed to market, and enable consumer-centricity through an integrated team, effective processes, and innovative technology, unlocking joy for each guest. The Merchandising Process & Change team focuses on defining, governing, and continuously improving the core business routines and processes that enable consistent, high-quality execution across merchandising and the roundtable. This includes establishing clear standards and best practices, ensuring disciplined execution, and driving ongoing process enhancements to support business performance. As a member of this team, you will play a key role in operationalizing merchandising processes and leading the planning and execution of critical business strategies. You will coordinate cross-functional efforts to ensure alignment and seamless execution of change, partnering closely with stakeholders to embed consistency, clarity, and effectiveness across the merchandising organization.
As a Business Continuity Lead, Merchandising Process & Change, you will play a critical role in protecting business performance and enabling consistent, high-quality execution across the merchandising organization. We are hiring multiple Business Continuity Leads to support this new capability. This role supports the activation of a centralized merchant and planner coverage model designed to strengthen continuity, mitigate risk, and elevate decision-making during key transition moments, including leaves of absence and other coverage gaps. Through this work, you will help drive both strong near-term outcomes and long-term organizational effectiveness. This is a strategic role positioned within the business to ensure continuity of critical merchandising decisions while advancing more consistent and effective ways of working. You will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to provide coverage support, bring an objective, enterprise-wide perspective, and embed best practices that strengthen execution across categories.
Key responsibilities include: • Provide merchant or planner coverage to ensure continuity of assortment, inventory, and financial decision-making during periods of transition or absence. • Maintain business performance by mitigating risk associated with coverage gaps and ensuring timely, high-quality decision-making. • Bring a cross-category perspective to strengthen decision quality and drive consistency in execution across the merchandising organization. • Identify, document, and embed best practices to elevate ways of working and improve overall team effectiveness. • Support capability building by upskilling partners and reinforcing consistent processes and standards. • Partner with Merchandising, Planning, Inventory, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and seamless execution. • Leverage enterprise-wide visibility to identify systemic opportunities and inform future process and technology improvements. • Contribute to the evolution of the centralized coverage model to enhance organizational resilience, agility, and performance over time.
About you (experience requirements):
7+ years of relevant experience in merchandising, planning, or related retail functions, with a strong understanding of assortment, inventory, and financial decision-making. • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and operate effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments, bringing structure and clarity where it does not exist. • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence without authority, and align diverse stakeholders toward shared outcomes. • High level of initiative and ownership; a self-starter who proactively identifies opportunities, takes action, and drives work forward with minimal direction. • Excellent relationship-building skills, including the ability to establish trust, anticipate needs, and identify enablers and potential roadblocks. • Demonstrated success leading across multiple, complex priorities simultaneously, effectively managing stakeholders across working teams, partners, and senior leadership. • Ability to bring an enterprise and cross-category perspective to decision-making, identifying opportunities to improve consistency and elevate execution. • Strong strategic and operational mindset, with the ability to balance long-term capability building with near-term business needs. • Effective communicator with the ability to tailor messaging, level of detail, and approach based on audience and context. • High degree of resiliency, personal accountability, and adaptability, with comfort operating in evolving environments. • Results-oriented and performance-driven, with strong organizational and execution skills. • Experience supporting or leading change initiatives, including driving adoption of new ways of working, is preferred. • Demonstrates a commitment to inclusion by valuing diverse perspectives and fostering an equitable and collaborative team environment.
