Responsibilities
The Property Claims Adjuster is responsible for investigating, negotiating, and settling property claims while maintaining high standards of customer service. They must also identify liability exposures, recommend reserves, and actively pursue business development opportunities.
Requirements
Candidates must have at least 2 years of relevant experience in property claims adjusting and the ability to obtain a level 1 Adjuster’s license in Alberta. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex legal documents are essential for this role.
We have an existing opportunity to add an experienced Property Claims Adjuster to our team! This position will be located out of Edmonton, Alberta.
Responsible for the investigation and adjusting of property claims, the successful candidate provides ClaimsPro and Client standard quality service and facilitates prompt and equitable settlement of claims within the parameters of corporate policies and standards as well as initiates and follows-up on business development opportunities. Specifically, this requires the adjuster to:
Investigate, negotiate and settle claims
Direct field investigations as required for exposure and within account guidelines parameters.
Make initial contact as per account guidelines.
Report to client as per account guidelines.
Identify liability exposures, recommend reserves, recommend investigation required for exposure, prepare action plans, and negotiate settlements
Provide high level of customer service to clients and the insured
Education, knowledge and experience required
At least 2 years’ relevant experience in property claims adjusting
Must be able to obtain at least a level 1 Adjuster’s license in AB
Ongoing commitment to education and learning.
Effective analytical skills, including identification of cause and effect dynamics
Good investigative manner
Able to draw valid conclusions and effectively communicate them.
Ability to interpret complex documents of a legal nature, perform and understand advanced numerical calculations including analysis of comparative information.
