Secure environmental approvals and permits for life of mine and growth projects across mining operations. Coordinate high-quality regulatory submissions and provide strategic environmental advice to internal and external stakeholders.
Requires a tertiary degree in environmental science or a related field and demonstrated experience managing approvals in heavy industry or mining. Must possess strong technical writing skills and a deep understanding of environmental regulatory frameworks.
Reporting to the OneSteel Regulatory Approvals Manager, based at either our Adelaide or Whyalla site this role will play a key part in securing environmental approvals and permits for both life of mine and growth projects across OneSteel Manufacturing’s mining operations.
Working closely with environmental, operations, mine planning and project teams, you will support the delivery of high-quality regulatory submissions while guiding complex projects through relevant approval pathways.
The role will contribute to both existing operations and exciting future growth initiatives across the Middleback Ranges, Ardrossan Dolomite Mine and other regional sites.
This is a unique opportunity to join an integrated mining and steelmaking business set for an exciting future and help shape the future of sustainable, low-carbon steel production in Whyalla.
For candidates based in Adelaide, regular travel to Whyalla and regional sites (approximately 1-2 times per month) will be required.
