Provides direct clinical support and patient care in an outpatient setting, including preparing patients and performing technical duties. Handles administrative tasks such as scheduling, documentation in electronic medical records, and coordinating patient communication.
Requires a certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) from an approved governing body and a Basic Life Support certification. A graduate degree from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred, along with at least one year of related experience.
Prepares and administers medications according to policy and procedure after validation of knowledge and demonstration of competency. May not administer intravenous medications.
Completes patient tests and treatments per provider’s order according to policy and procedure after validation of knowledge and demonstration of competency.
