The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides trauma-informed, holistic mental health care, including psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management. They work within an integrated care team to develop individualized treatment plans and provide consultations for complex patient cases.
Candidates must hold a Nurse Practitioner certification with a specialty in Psychiatry and possess an active Maryland license. Proficiency in English is required, and the ability to work on-site at various locations is mandatory.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Nurse Practitioner provides direct patient care commensurate pertaining to his/her training and experience, and in collaboration with CCI physicians. The care provided is appropriate for an out-patient, primary care community health center with a multicultural, multilingual patient population. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will provide trauma-informed, holistic mental health care to refugees, asylees, and individuals seeking substance use disorder (SUD) treatment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in psychiatric evaluation, psychopharmacology, and integrated behavioral health, with a commitment to improving access and reducing stigma for marginalized communities.
As a member of the health center’s integrated care team the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will fulfill the following KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES towards the provision of patient-centered, coordinated patient care:
