Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail oriented and proactive Housing Deposit Coordinator to manage the submission and facilitation of housing deposit authorization requests to the health plans. This role is crucial for ensuring all processes are executed in a timely and accurate manner, in compliance with relevant guidelines. The Housing Deposit Coordinator will oversee landlord and tenant relationships, process housing authorizations, address any issues or denials, and collaborate with various internal departments.
Responsibilities:
Submit housing deposit authorization requests to health plans, ensuring all required documentation is accurate and submitted on time.
Act as a liaison between landlords, tenants, and health plans to facilitate smooth processing of housing deposit authorizations and resolve any arising issues.
Review and validate all documentation related to housing deposits and authorizations, ensuring correct coding and completeness. Collaborate with internal staff to address discrepancies or missing information.
Ensure timely processing of authorizations, monitor the status of pending requests, and follow up as necessary to secure approvals.
Investigate authorization denials, working closely with insurance providers to identify reasons for denials.
Partner with internal teams (billing, legal, Community Support staff) to ensure compliance with polices and resolve issues related to housing deposit authorizations.
Ensure all housing deposit authorizations comply with internal procedures, health plan requirements, and applicable regulations. Maintain accurate records for auditing purposes.
Communicate with leasing offices to gather required documentation and confirm lease agreements.
Ensure all lease agreements comply with organizational standards and requirements.
Submit referrals to the health plan for the housing deposit/housing sustainability services on behalf of approved members.
Follow up with the health plan to secure approvals for requested services.
Send approval and all applicable documentation to our finance department for processing of housing deposit or billable contact forms.
Coordinate with property management/members to assist in facilitating housing deposit payments in a timely manner.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
High school, diploma or GED is required.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an administrative or coordinator role, preferably in a health care or housing related setting.
Experience in handling authorizations, insurance submissions, or similar administrative roles.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must have a valid California driver's license and valid vehicle insurance.
Strong attention to details with the ability to identify errors in documentation and medical coding.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable with interactions with landlords, tenants, health plans and internal teams.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently resolve issues.
Knowledge of insurance processes, authorization protocols, and denial management is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficient skills in working independently and collaboratively in a team.
Capability to perform under circumstances of possible emotional stress and conflict with professionalism and empathy.
Computer skills for documentation, email communication and support.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at an office desk on the computer.
Lifting: Able to lift up to 15lbs.
