Provide specialized nursing care for patients in the Electrophysiology Lab, including monitoring and managing procedures like ablations and pacemaker insertions. Responsibilities include administering sedation, managing intravenous medications, and maintaining arterial/venous access sites.
Requires at least 2 years of experience in critical care, PACU, ER, or procedural settings and a valid Oregon State RN license. Candidates must hold an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing and be BLS certified.
Patients in the Electrophysiology Lab are cared for by a multidisciplinary team including: EP Registered Nurses, Registered Radiologic Technologists, Anesthesia providers, and Electrophysiologists. Patients require continuous cardiac monitoring, frequent physician, nursing and ancillary service intervention, and other specialized treatment and/or procedures such as: ablations, pericardiocentesis, transfusion of blood products, insertion of permanent and temporary pacemakers, cardioversion, defibrillation, pain management, sedation and titration of intravenous medications including vasoactive agents, cardiac agents, anticoagulants, and antiplatelet agents.
The department is open Monday through Friday from 0645 to 1715 for routine, urgent, and emergent cases. An on-call team is available Monday-Friday from 1715-2200 and weekends/holidays from 0600-1600 for after-hours procedures.
