What you will do:
The Clinical Massage Therapist is responsible for providing evidence-informed therapeutic massage services as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team within Delaware Valley Community Health (DVCH). Services are delivered pursuant to provider referral and an established plan of care to support the management of pain, improve physical function, reduce stress-related symptoms, and enhance overall patient well-being.
Unlike traditional wellness or spa environments, the Clinical Massage Therapist practices within an outpatient primary care setting and functions as a member of the Patient-Centered Medical Home. The therapist collaborates with primary care providers, behavioral health clinicians, nursing staff, care coordinators, and other healthcare professionals to support comprehensive, patient-centered care.
The Clinical Massage Therapist maintains complete and accurate clinical documentation within the electronic health record, adheres to all applicable federal and state laws governing massage therapy practice, and supports DVCH's mission to improve the health and well-being of the communities it serves.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Deliver safe, effective, evidence-informed therapeutic massage interventions based on provider referrals and individualized treatment plans.
Assess patient presentation within the scope of practice and modify massage techniques as clinically appropriate while adhering to the established plan of care.
Document patient evaluations, treatment interventions, progress, patient response, and education accurately and timely within the electronic health record.
Promote patient comfort, dignity, privacy, and cultural sensitivity during every patient encounter.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, behavioral health clinicians, nursing staff, care coordinators, rehabilitation professionals, and other members of the healthcare team.
Identify changes in patient condition requiring referral or communication with the supervising provider.
Maintain compliance with Pennsylvania massage therapy regulations, infection prevention standards, OSHA requirements, HIPAA, organizational policies, and applicable healthcare regulations.
Maintain treatment rooms, equipment, and supplies in accordance with infection control, safety, and organizational standards.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, continuing education, and interdisciplinary care planning activities.
Maintain professional competency through ongoing education and evidence-based clinical practice.
Completes other duties as assigned by Chief Medical Officer.
DVCH is an EOE/Veterans/Disabled/LGBTQ+ employer.

Experience
Minimum of two (2) years of clinical massage therapy experience providing therapeutic massage in a healthcare, outpatient medical, rehabilitation, integrative medicine, or comparable clinical setting preferred.
Experience working within a primary care or interdisciplinary healthcare environment, including collaboration with physicians, advanced practice providers, behavioral health clinicians, nursing staff, and other members of the care team, is highly desirable.
