They collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to resolve complex documentation errors and maintain the integrity of patient information.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, with an associate or bachelor's degree in Health Information Management preferred. Previous experience in Health Information Management or a related healthcare field such as patient registration or nursing is required.
The EHR Chart Correction Specialist is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and correcting electronic health record (EHR) data to ensure documentation accuracy, data integrity, and compliance with healthcare standards and regulations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the quality and reliability of patient information across the health system.
Demonstrated computer aptitude and critical thinking skills required. Attention to detail.
Ability to make decision based on data and information obtained through research and analysis
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management (HIM) is preferred
Experience:
Previous experience in Health Information Management or other health care field such as patient registration, unit clerk, nursing, etc.
