Responsibilities:

• Work with Group Tax team, finance business partners and external advisors for China to prepare & submit direct and indirect tax returns and associated notifications on relevant government portals.
• Calculate and facilitate direct and indirect tax payments and book it in the financial system (SAP).
• Work on input VAT verification and booking.
• Prepare indirect tax return data (VAT/withholding taxes/local surcharges and duties) for submission. Complete ledger reconciliation.
• Work as key tax contact point to local tax bureau and keep good daily government communication, and prepare tax bureau reports (e.g. tax forecast, tax actual analysis…)
• Response to local tax authority queries, reviews and audits  - liaising directly with External advisors, tax agencies and closely working with regional tax team; support customs investigations.
• Work with Group Tax to prepare the ACT/BUD/FCST tax accounting and reporting (including cash taxes); and preparation of local statutory account tax calculation & disclosures – including liaison with External Audit team.
• Independently extract financial data and prepare tax related reports.
• Work with external advisors and tax agencies for local routine tax projects and other daily tax matters (e.g. TP local file, PRT forms disclosure, CIT allocation…)
• Keep updated on the local tax policy, provide regular tax training to local accounting team to ensure tax compliance.
• Assist Group Tax to calculate and verify transfer pricing results.
• Support Group Tax on an ad hoc basis with questions regarding new tax legislation, new transaction flows, transfer pricing or other tax matters.
• Other reasonable tax related or other accounting operation works assigned.

Qualifications:
Education

A Strong educational background and a tertiary degree or diploma, preferably in finance, tax or accounting

Experience

• 8+ years’ experience in tax role (MNC and pharmaceutical/ medical device industry preparable)
• 3+ years’ experience in ATR/ GL role

Competencies

• Strong organization and process management skills
• Professional and good communication skill with tax government
• Excellent interpersonal skills and is a natural collaborator who can engage with stakeholders at all levels
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills (English and Chinese)
• Proficient in financial data collection and processing, with advanced in SAP
• Strong numerical and analytical skills together with an ability to understand and succinctly explain large and complex concepts
• Attention to detail
• Learning agility & Intellectual Horsepower
• Microsoft Office skills including a strong capability in Excel and PowerPoint
• Analysis for Office (preferable)
• Time Management & Priority setting
• Ability to work autonomously to Drive for Results
• Problem solving and dealing with ambiguity

• Good at English speaking, reading and writing
