Responsibilities
Provide individual and group therapy sessions for patients with substance use disorders using evidence-based modalities. Collaborate with an integrated care team to develop treatment plans and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
Requirements
Requires an active LCAS license and an independent license as an LCMHC, LMFT, or LCSW in North Carolina. Candidates must have at least one year of experience providing therapy for substance use disorders.
Full job description
Steadfast Health was founded to establish a new standard of substance use disorder (SUD) care. Recognizing that traditional treatment methods often fall short of reaching patients when they’re most in need, Steadfast is relentlessly focused on making low-barrier, high quality care accessible to all. We know that the journey to recovery is unique for every individual, and our patient-centered approach ensures we meet patients where they are, providing evidence-based therapies with unwavering support in a compassionate environment that fosters healing and growth.
What a Role at Steadfast Gives You
Predictable income, every pay period: a fixed base salary plus a monthly performance incentive, not variable, per-session pay that swings with cancellations, no-shows, or slow weeks.
Protected non-billable time, built into your schedule: 10.5 hours per week of paid, protected time for documentation, supervision, case consultation, and lunch — all part of your paid day, not unpaid work you fit in around billable hours.
Manageable, capped caseloads: we cap caseload size to protect quality of care and your wellbeing, growth in your caseload is planned and supported, not something you're expected to sustain indefinitely to keep your income up.
Administrative burden handled for you: in-house billing, AI-assisted documentation support, and MA/LPN and Peer Recovery Specialist support mean your time goes to patients, not paperwork or chasing reimbursement.
Full benefits: medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) match, paid time off, and 100% employer-paid disability and life insurance
Why Steadfast
Healthcare Coverage: medical, dental & vision insurance, plus 100% employer-paid short- and long-term disability and life insurance.
401(k) Match: up to 5% company match.
Time Off: 29 days off a year to start (PTO, floating holidays, paid volunteer days), increasing on your anniversary — plus 4 Re-Fuel Days annually for mental health, rest, or CEU activities.
Continuing Education: annual CEU stipend and ongoing paid training.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP): free, confidential access to therapy, legal, financial, and wellness resources.
Protected Time: built into your day for recharging, clinical supervision, huddles, care planning, and admin work.
Clinical Support: MA/LPN and Peer Recovery Specialist support, a collaborative care model with physician backup, and manageable panel sizes.
Additional perks: SoFi student loan interest rate discount, Rightway Health Concierge, a year of free pet telehealth through Pawp, and Perkspot discount marketplace.
Soulside AI documentation support: because your energy belongs with patients, not paperwork.
We believe lived experience with recovery is a strength, not a barrier — many of our team bring personal or family experience with addiction and recovery, and we welcome candidates in recovery to apply. This is also a ground-floor opportunity to help shape how we grow in the Raleigh market.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individual and group therapy sessions for patients with substance use disorders, both in-person and via telehealth, embodying the Steadfast patient-first ethos.
Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans, modeling a non-paternalistic and destigmatizing approach to patient care.
Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to support patient recovery.
Collaborate with all clinic-level team members to formulate and execute patient care plans, including Advanced Practice Providers, Medical Assistants, and Peer Recovery Specialists, ensuring integrated treatment approaches.
Support patients in crisis intervention situations and coordinate higher levels of care when necessary.
Maintain thorough and timely documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
Pioneer innovative ways of improving access and overall care for disadvantaged, marginalized populations.
Champion the company’s mission by modeling compassion and fostering trust and strong relationships with patients and communities.
Educate patients and families on SUD, co-occurring disorders, and available resources to support sustained recovery and overall health.
Participate in regular case consultations, team meetings, and continuing education to stay current with best practices in SUD treatment.
Qualifications
Active LCAS as well as Independently licensed as an LCMHC, LMFT, or LCSW in the state of North Carolina.
Minimum of 1 year of experience providing therapy to individuals with substance use disorders.
Experience with telehealth platforms and virtual care delivery is a plus.
Strong knowledge of SUD diagnoses, medications, and treatment modalities.
Ability to effectively interact with diverse staff, patients, and community members.
Excellent interpersonal skills, a flexible, can-do mentality, and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Passionate about Steadfast Health’s mission to provide low-barrier, non-punitive, harm-reductionist SUD care.
