The Utility Worker in Food Service is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the healthcare food service department. This position plays a critical role in ensuring cleanliness, organization, and efficient operation within the kitchen and dining areas. The Utility Worker will assist with dishwashing, food prep assistance, maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, and supporting other food service staff as needed.
Job Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday-Friday and weekends Shift: 7:00am-7:00pm Rate of Pay: $15.00
Key Responsibilities:
Dishwashing & Cleaning: Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensil sin accordance with food safety standards. Ensure that all kitchenware is cleaned, sanitized, and properly stored.
Food Preparation Support: Assist with basic food prep tasks, such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and portioning food.
Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas, including countertops, floors, and storage areas. Dispose of trash and recyclables in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Inventory Assistance: Assist in managing inventory by stocking food supplies, cleaning products, and maintaining proper organization of storage areas.
Sanitation Compliance: Follow strict sanitation and safety protocols to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other team members to support food service operations and ensure a smooth workflow.
Other Responsibilities:
Ability to perform duties in emergency situations and adverse weather conditions, which may include extended on-site work hours as necessary to ensure the continuation of operations and to respond to unforeseen circumstances. Perform all duties as assigned by management, including but not limited to, any additional tasks or responsibilities as may be reasonably required to meet the operational needs of the organization.
Qualifications:
Experience: Prior experience in food service or a similar role is preferred but not required.
Knowledge: Basic understanding of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and kitchen equipment.
Skills: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
Personal Attributes: Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work as part of a team. Positive attitude and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Work Environment:
