Job Description
Responsible for implementing and supporting improvements, efficiency, enhancing software quality, and accelerating delivery times. Having the shared responsibility between development/operations with a focus on people, process, and tools that take a unified customer/user focus. In a multi-disciplinary team with Development, QA, IT Operations, InfoSec, and UCD, all working together to achieve a common goal of applying best practice in DevOps.
Key Responsibilities:
Extensive experience of DevOps tooling, containers and containerisation
Communication: Ability to speak with stakeholders and be able to transfer business requirements into technical implementation
Facilitate information/business knowledge: Able to act as a business SME and understand what the business needs and how to support this into an efficient DevOps team.
Stakeholder Management: Able to negotiate and influence stakeholders to ensure the service runs effectively and efforts are placed correctly.
Qualifications
5+ Years working as a DevOps Engineer
Strong knowledge of AWS, CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance
Experience using Terraform(infrastructure as code), Kubernetes and Helm
Experience in Java
Experienced with multiple ecosystem databases, architecture and integration
Experience with monitoring tools to ensure system reliability and performance.
Database Management: Experience with schema change management (e.g., Liquibase).
Knowledge of GitOps principles
Experience working within the public sector/central government is beneficial
Essentials
